"Grandma"

A commission I did for a friend and neighbor of ours.
It's done in oil on an oval canvas this time.The picture is in black and white ,so it was a good lesson in values and using different colors rather than just black and white to make warm and cool grays.

My friend from elementary school took this picture,and I loved the busyness and colors going on especially on a street like this in New York city..so I asked her if I could paint it ..she agreed and here it is.It's watercolor on canson board.I purposely made the figures in the forefront more detailed and let everything sort of soften as the images go back in the distance.
