"White Roses"

I saw these flowers outside my mom's other apartment last year,and I knew I had to paint them.They were resting nicely on the step by the small garden next to her door. 8" x 10" on  canvas.It's reserved for someone who's going to buy it,but if anyone wants prints ..let me know.

White Roses Some value sketches

Inspired by fellow artist Karen Margulis,I'm working on more and more value sketches for my paintings. It's really fun,and it does help with sorting out the values before a painting. The first one is done with Prismacolor markers in Cool Grey-20% 40% and 70%. Karen  in her blog suggests the Warm Greys,but I'm missing the 70% in those. You can use TomBow too if you like. The second photo is a value sketch done with a mix of Terra Rosa  and Cobalt Blue (watermixable) oils.
