White Roses Some value sketches

Inspired by fellow artist Karen Margulis,I'm working on more and more value sketches for my paintings. It's really fun,and it does help with sorting out the values before a painting. The first one is done with Prismacolor markers in Cool Grey-20% 40% and 70%. Karen  in her blog suggests the Warm Greys, but I'm missing the 70% in those. You can use TomBow too if you like. The second photo is a value sketch done with a mix of Terra Rosa  and Cobalt Blue (watermixable) oils.

"Wetlands II"

I painted the original "Wetlands" a couple of years ago in oil,and I just finished this  in pastel. Wanted to revisit  this in a different medium..It's pastel on homemade surface-foamboard gessoed then I applied acrylic pastel ground. Saw this formula on Karen Margulis' blog. That's what inspired me to revisit this painting-Karen suggests revisiting older paintings with fresh eyes and a different medium.
