"View From Our Window"

Latest Goings On...

Some updates since last November,lol . Wow..I have a lot of catching up to do here.

A little before Christmas,I was in a group show at Carter Sexton ,The Christmas Show.I had the"Candy Cane Man","My Little Buddy" and "A Pair of Bears" available. That  sold a few days ago..Yay!!! And Candy Cane Man went to a neighbor as a Christmas present.The first two are acrylic on canvas and "A

Pair of Bears" is pastel on paper.

 I've been procrastinating too much lately,checking out so much stuff on other sites,not getting my own posting done  lol. So I'll catch you up on these past few months,spining around like Matt Smith's Doctor Who,Geronimo! Over the summer I had some fun exhibiting at the Chocolate and Art Show,and Carter Sexton Stage & Screen Show and the Carter Sexton Halloween Show. Sold my "Brigitte" at the Stage & Screen Show . Yay!

"A Night Out"

  5" x 7" acrylic on canvas panel. I started out with 2 bottles of nail polish for a still life. They were fun colors,a bright pink and yellow,but the shapes were boring,just square.After painting them,they just didn't seem to have enough pizazz,so  I found this other bottle with a curvy shape and a beautiful  bright red ,put it in front of some other objects like an old clock and a Moet champagne box  we had on our table that someone gave us last Christmas and I wanted to suggest a story,maybe a night out on the town ,or getting ready for a date....

Just thought I'd better post an update on what I've doing these last few months..haven't been posting much in a while ,I've been working on mini paintings for Fiverr.com. I'm also working on a few private commissions as well as a Beatles piece for Carter Sexton. Well,back to work! ;)

"Somewhere in Saskatchewan"

 9" x 12" watercolor on Saunders Waterford 300lb rough watercolor paper.A friend of my boyfriend goes back to Saskatchewan every so often to visit his mom and friends,and he took a few photos this time.I asked if I could use them for reference,and he agreed. I loved the one I did this painting of because I was looking to capture the simplicity of the scene-a few lone barns and the nearest neighbor is probably a mile away.

"A Day at the Lake"

                                                          We have a lovely place nearby called Woodley Park.There's a lake  with ducks ,people picnic there,ride their small boats and some even have their remote control boats and planes.. Lots of water,trees and marshland. I saw this crane ,just sitting there watching the world go by,so i did this pastel of him/her and his/her surroundings.

        from my friend Herbie's house.I added the salt and pepper shaker hen and rooster for added interest.
